Wendy Kane

President & Founder

With 33 years of success in Event Design & Management, Marketing, Corporate Consulting, Sponsor Packaging, Television Integration and Community/Municipal Relations, Wendy is one of the most sought after Executives in the industry. Her passion for the business, her dedication to her clients and her ability to exceed expectation, are three characteristics that are evident in each initiative she touches.  She takes great pride in what she does and treats every business endeavour with the same level of commitment and respect, no matter how large or small.

Prior to launching, WK+A in 2003, she spent ten years at IMG Canada as Vice President and Director, overseeing “Stars On Ice”, “The Sahara Cup” (international cricket), “World Figure Skating Championships”, “Drive for Gold “(Hockey Canada Olympic Program),“The Canadian Professional Figure Skating Championships” in addition to developing strategic marketing plans for CIBC, HSBC, Chrysler, Toyota and Sears Canada.  Her areas of focus were corporate integration, television production, event staging, advertising & promotions, corporate sales & servicing as well as venue, athlete and financial management.  Wendy has developed strong relationships with not only the corporate sector and venues in North America but also all major TV networks – CBC, CTV, TSN, Global, FOX, NBC, ABC, BBC, NHK and Star TV.

Wendy’s passion for the Event & Sports industry started while working at Skate Canada, right after graduating from the University of Toronto.  It was not long before she found herself at Lang & Associate – spending eight years developing corporate marketing programs and managing the Canada’s first national figure skating tour, “Champions On Ice” following the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics.

Wendy has always said the greatest rewards in business have come from the people she works with, the productions she works on and the people she meets in her travels.  Today, she combines all her rewards in a company appropriate called “Wendy Kane & Associates”.

Denise Benning-Reid

Vice President

An enthusiastic, service oriented individual with 20+ years of hands-on experience in event production, management and marketing.  She possesses a broad knowledge corporate communications and branding, sponsorship, experiential marketing, client/supplier relations, television production and the numerous details involved in the execution of events both large and small.

Joining WK+A Events in 2005, Denise brought with her a wealth of experience including 9 years with IMG Canada as Event Manager working on projects such as the Stars on Ice & Skate The Nation Figure Skating Tours, several professional skating competitions, Export “A” Skins Game, and the Sahara Cup international cricket match.

As Vice-President at WK+A Events, Denise has managed a variety of the company’s corporate and non-profit projects, including corporate meetings and conferences, consumer promotions, sporting events, and fundraising initiatives.

Denise is the company’s resident Olympian having competed at the 1988 Olympic Winter Games and three World Figure Skating Championships in “Pairs” with partner Lyndon Johnston. A member of Canada’s National Figure Skating Team from 1984-1988, Denise was inducted into the Windsor/Essex County Sports Hall of Fame in 2003 and the Skate Canada – Western Ontario Hall of Fame in 2015.

Wendy Chamberlain-Davey

Event Director

Wendy is an accomplished event professional with 24 years’ experience in the Event Management & Event Marketing industry, including 5 years with WK+A specializing in production, operations and logistics.  She has strong multi-tasking abilities coupled with a high degree of efficiency.  A seasoned negotiator on behalf of the client and event, Wendy prides herself on her ability to create a positive and proactive culture with the athletes, artists, on-air talent, staff, suppliers, etc. that are instrumental in making events “come to life”.

Prior to joining WK+A, Wendy held senior roles including 10 years with the St. Michael’s Majors Hockey Club, 8 years at Optex Staging and 3 years with IMG Canada.
